Ongoing Incidents

Saskatoon Police report that both incidents are now resolved.

The first incident in the 300 block of Ave T south has ended peacefully with a 33 year old male taken into custody. He now is facing numerous firearms related charges and other court ordered documents. The Police will be maintaining a presence within the area however, motorists and pedestrians will have access to the street.

The second incident in the 100 block of 2nd ave has also been resolved with the suspicious package being empty.

The Saskatoon Police Service want to thank the public for their patience with these situations.

 

Saskatoon Police are currently responding to two separate ongoing incidents; one involving a barricaded subject and the second involving a suspicious package downtown.

At approximately 2:20 p.m., Police responded to a weapons call in the 300 block of Avenue T South. Upon further investigation, a male was observed in the residence with a firearm. He has since barricaded himself inside. The Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiators are on scene. Traffic is restricted on Avenue T between 19th and 20th Streets, and on 19th Street between Avenue U and S.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m., there was a report of a suspicious package in the area of 21st Street and 2nd Avenue. The Explosives Disposal Unit is en route to the scene. Traffic is restricted on 2nd Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets.
