Additional Information - Arrest - Evade Police/Stolen Property

A CEW was utilized by officers during the arrest of the male suspect involved in this incident due to his aggressive behaviour.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.

A 40 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following an incident in which a vehicle refused to stop for Police.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., September 16, 2019 Patrol Officers spotted a Suzuki Grand Vitara being driven in a suspicious manner in the area of Avenue B North and 35th Street.  When they attempted to conduct a traffic stop the vehicle fled, evading the officers.  A tire deflation device was successfully utilized  before the vehicle came to a stop at Spadina Crescent and Avenue D South.  The male driver of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by members of the Canine Unit.  The male suspect suffered a minor dog bite injury.  The vehicle was found to be displaying a stolen license plate.  

The 40 year old man is now facing charges of dangerous driving, evade police, possession of stolen property and breach of undertaking.  He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
