As a result of the investigation on Howell Avenue this morning, SPS Major Crimes investigators have now charged four males with breaking and entering, committing assault with a weapon and manslaughter.  The ages of the charged males are 21, 23, 25 and 37 years of age.  All accused will go before a justice of the peace to answer to the charges.

Investigators do not believe that this incident was random in nature or that the public are at risk as a result.

SPS Major Crimes, Targeted Enforcement, General Investigations, Technological Crimes and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate a call of an injured 31 year old male, not 21 years as previously reported, found inside a residence in the 100 block of Howell Avenue at just after 5:00am this morning.  The injured male was transported by Medavie Health Services to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.   His death has been ruled a homicide.

Multiple persons from the residence have been interviewed and assisted police in the investigation.  At this time police have a number of persons of interest and suspects in custody. 

An autopsy to determine the cause of death has been ordered by the Office of the Chief Coroner and will take place Monday, September 23, 2019.

The investigation continues.

In the early morning hours of Saturday September 21, 2019 just after 5:00 am, Saskatoon Police received a call of an injured male in the 100 block of Howell Avenue. When Police arrived they located a 21 year old injured male, and he was transported by Medevie West to hospital. SPS Major Crime, Targeted Enforcement, and Identification members are currently investigating the incident.
