A 27 year old man is facing charges following a report of a 911 hang up that resulted in Police deploying a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW).

At approximately 8:25p.m., September 21, 2019, Police received a 911 call to a home in the 2200blk of 17th St W. The responding officers located a male in the yard. The male came at officers with a knife at which point a CEW was deployed successfully. He was taken into custody without further incident. The male was treated at scene by Medavie Health Services.

He is facing charges of Assault Police Officer with a weapon X2. He will be brought before a Justice of the Peace on September 22, 2019.

The incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
