The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating following a report of a person and dog in the river late Friday morning.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on July 31, 2026, police were called to the area of Spadina Crescent East and Ravine Drive for a report of an unknown problem. Initial call information outlined a person and a dog were seen in the river. No description could be provided at the time.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service responded and members of the Sasakatoon Fire Department and Corman Park Police Service were also called to the scene to assist in the search. At this time, no dog or person have been located.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone who witnessed the incident or with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to call at 306-975-8300.

51 Charges Laid - Break and Enter Investigation

A Saskatoon man is facing a long list of charges relating to a string of break and enters which occurred primarily at storage units and locked compounds between November 2024 and October 2025.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Break and Enter Unit have been investigating these incidents and as a result of that investigation, a 45-year-old man was arrested on July 28, 2026 at Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre.

The 45-year-old man has been charged with:

Break and Enter (x22)

Wearing a Disguise with Intent (x18)

Possession of Break and Enter Tools (x8)

Mischief

Theft of Mail

And; Attempted Theft of Mail

He is scheduled to make his next appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on August 14, 2026.

Charges Laid - Drug Trafficking Investigation - 200 Block Barrett St

Two people are facing charges following an investigation into drug trafficking by the Saskatoon Police Service Crime Reduction Team.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on July 29, 2026, as a result of investigation, a 22-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were taken into custody by members of the Tactical Support Unit in the 200 block of Barrett Street. Both were arrested and transported to SPS Detention.

Investigators executed search warrants for a residence and vehicle, both located in the 200 block of Barrett Street, and seized the following as evidence:

2149 grams of cocaine

$5371.95 in cash

A collectable Be@rbrick Grateful Dead Dancing Bear valued at over $1100.00

Drug packaging and other paraphernalia

Both are facing a total of six charges related to trafficking and possession of cocaine, and proceeds of crime.

Homicide - 200 Block Ave V S

Saskatoon Police are investigating the city’s 8th homicide.

At 6:45 p.m. on July 30, 2026, patrol officers responded to a report of an injured person lying outside in the 200 block of Avenue V South. The victim, a 24-year-old man, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Members of the Saskatoon Police Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections are continuing to investigate. An autopsy will be conducted on August 4, 2026.

Charges Laid - Impaired Driving - 3900 Block 8th St E

A man is facing charges following a report of impaired driving yesterday evening.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 30, 2026, patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 3900 block of 8th Street East after receiving a report of a possible impaired driver. When police arrived and approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and drove into a building.

Upon his arrest, officers observed signs of impairment, however the driver refused to comply with a breath demand.

The 36-year-old man is charged with:

Arrest - Assault / Evade Police - 800 Block Avenue O South

Police are investigating following an assault last night.

At around 11:15 p.m. on July 29, 2026, police were called to a report of an assault in progress in the 800 block of Avenue O South. It was reported that someone had been attacked with a machete. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a machete attack. Through investigation, officers learned that a confrontation had occurred between parties known to one another resulting in the victim being injured. Multiple persons dispersed from the scene prior to police arrival.

Approximately five minutes later, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area without a visible license plate. Upon activating the police vehicle’s emergency equipment, the vehicle did not stop and began to evade at a high rate of speed. Officers disengaged from the evade police incident.

Later, shortly before 12:30 a.m. on July 30, 2026, police were called to a single vehicle collision in the area of 71st Street East and Arthur Rose Avenue. Upon arrival, a lone male, later identified as the driver, was located next to a heavily damaged car. Through investigation, officers determined that this was the same suspect who had evaded police earlier and was also believed to be present during the incident involving the machete.

As a result, the 24-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with Evading Police and Dangerous Driving. Police are continuing to investigate the assault.

Arrests - Weapons Investigation - 300 Block Avenue E South

Two people were arrested following a report of a person armed with a firearm.

At around 1:30 a.m. on July 30, 2026, police were called to the 300 block of Avenue E South for a report of a person in possession of a firearm. Additional information provided to police indicated that a man had flashed a firearm that was tucked into his waistband. Responding officers located a man matching the suspect’s description walking with a woman in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South. He was arrested without further incident and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm and machete. The woman he was with was also found to be wanted on a warrant and in possession of a machete; she was also arrested without incident.

As a result, the 27-year-old man has been charged with multiple weapons-related offences and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions. The 18-year-old woman was charged with Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace, Unauthorized Carry of a Concealed Weapon, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.

Arrest - Evade Police - Dagnone Crescent and Brighton Gate

One man was arrested following an evade police incident late last night.

At around 11:50 p.m. on July 29, 2026, an officer patrolling in the area of Dagnone Crescent and Brighton Gate attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. As the officer was conducting the traffic stop, the driver put the vehicle back into drive and fled at a high rate of speed. The driver evaded police for a short distance before colliding with city infrastructure in the area of McOrmond Drive and Stensrud Road. He was arrested without further incident and found to be wanted on several criminal code warrants.

In addition to the execution of his warrants, the 22-year-old Saskatoon man has been further charged with Obstruction, Evading Police, Dangerous Driving, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.

Arrest - Assault - 300 Block 2nd Avenue South

One man was arrested following a stabbing early this morning.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on July 29, 2026, a member of the Bike Unit patrolling downtown observed a confrontation between a small group of people in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South. As the officer biked towards them, the group dispersed. Upon speaking to one of the involved persons, the officer learned the man had been stabbed by one of the people who had walked away. Additional officers arriving in the area located the suspect and arrested him without incident. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, a 38-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

Charges Laid - Weapons Offence - 100 Block of Ruth Street East

A man is facing weapons related charges following an incident involving a pocket knife overnight.

On July 28, 2026 at approximately 12:50 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of Ruth Street East for a weapons call where it was reported that a man was swinging a knife around.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man matching the suspect description. He was arrested without further incident and a search of his person resulted in police locating a pocket knife.

Through their investigation, officers learned that there was a brief verbal altercation between the victims and suspect before the suspect pulled out a knife. There are not believed to have been any physical injuries as a result of this incident.

The 41-year-old man has been charged with Assault with a Weapon (x2) and Possession of a Weapon.

Stabbings - 2200 Block of 22nd Street West / Unit Block of Assiniboine Drive

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service responded to multiple stabbings last night.

On July 27, 2026 at approximately 7:35 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of 22nd Street West for an injured person call where it was reported that a man had been stabbed.

Arriving officers located the 40-year-old man with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital for further medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

At around 2:45 a.m. on July 28, 2026, officers were dispatched to another injured person call where a man had been stabbed. This call was to the unit block of Assiniboine Drive.

Responding officers located the 25-year-old man on the Warman Road overpass above Circle Drive. He was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed that the suspect and victim are known to each other.

Assault - 21st Street West and Avenue M South

Police are investigating in relation to an assault on Sunday evening.

On July 26, 2026 at around 8:10 p.m., police were called to the area of 21st Street West and Avenue M South for an assault in progress.

Upon police arrival, a 41-year-old woman was located with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries consistent with an assault. Police rendered first aid before paramedics arrived on scene and transported the woman to hospital for further medical treatment.

Through investigation, officers learned the victim had been assaulted by a group of people in an unknown alley near where she was located by police.

Saskatoon Police are requesting public assistance in locating a missing 15-year-old.

Kali Alexi Marie Montana was last seen in the 2000 block of Arlington Avenue at around 10:35 p.m. on July 26, 2026. She is described as female, 5’6, approximately 130 pounds, with dark brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a cream plaid shirt, a black hoodie, and green cargo pants.

It is believed that Kali Alexi Marie Montana may be in a vulnerable state.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kali Alexi Marie Montana is asked to contact police at 306-975-8300.

Stabbing Investigations

Saskatoon Police responded to multiple reported stabbing over the weekend.

On July 24, 2026 at approximately 4:35 p.m., police were called to a business in the 400 block of Confederation Drive for an injured person call where it was reported that a woman had been stabbed.

Responding officers located the 36-year-old woman a short distance away being treated by members of the Saskatoon Fire Department. She was transported to hospital by paramedics for what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Through initial investigation, police were not able to determine the location of the stabbing.

Through initial investigation, officers learned the woman was assaulted by two females in the 500 block of 20th Street West. The 29-year-old woman was transported to hospital by paramedics for further medical treatment.
