A seven year old child was unharmed following a theft of a vehicle on the weekend.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., July 14, 2019 Police were called to a home on Madison Crescent. The owner of a Toyota Highlander had reported the vehicle was stolen while it was left unattended for a few minutes. The child was asleep in the vehicle at the time. Officers arrived to find the vehicle a short distance down the street. The suspect had abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The child was safe inside. A track by the SPS Canine Unit did not locate the suspect.
