A man is facing charges after threatening staff at a business with a stolen baseball bat yesterday evening.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m., May 6, 2025, patrol officers responded to a weapons call and reported theft from a business in the 1600 block of 8th Street East. Upon arrival, they located a man matching the suspect description, carrying a stolen baseball bat, a short distance away. When police approached the man, he waved the bat in a threatening manner. After dropping the bat, he still refused to comply with directions from police and resisted arrest. He was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers.

The 28-year-old man is charged with Assault with a Weapon (x2), Utter Threats (x2), Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Theft, Mischief, and Resisting Arrest. (Court Info # 991302531)
