Police arrested multiple people in relation to weapons incidents on the weekend.
On June 14, 2025 at around 12:30 p.m., police were called to the area of Central Avenue and 115th Street for a report of a male armed with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers located two males matching the suspect descriptions. As officers were investigating, one of the males attempted to hide an imitation firearm in a bush; he was subsequently arrested without incident. As a result, the 17-year-old male was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm while prohibited (x2), and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.

At around 12:00 a.m. on June 15, 2025, members of the Bike Unit were patrolling in the 200 block of 23rd Street East when they observed a commotion at a bus stop. Upon detaining multiple persons and continuing to investigate, it was determined that an imitation firearm had been discharged at one of the involved persons by another. Further investigation led to locating one of the detained persons in possession of an imitation firearm. As a result, the 18-year-old man was charged with discharging an imitation firearm with intent to cause bodily harm, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on June 15, 2025, police were called to a hotel in the 100 block of Circle Drive West for a report of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, officers were directed to a group of persons in the parking lot. Continued investigation led police to locating an imitation firearm on one of them. As a result, the 27-year-old man was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon.
