Update - Charges Laid - Collision On University Bridge

The 37-year-old man previously arrested for dangerous driving, evading police, impaired driving, and refusal was released from police custody without charges for admission to hospital under the Mental Health Services Act. This incident remains under investigation. 

Saskatoon Police have laid charges against a 37-year-old male following several reports of erratic driving that culminated in a collision on University Bridge this morning.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., October 15, 2025, SPS Communications began receiving numerous calls about a black vehicle driving erratically, in the wrong lanes of travel, and disobeying traffic signals. A patrol officer attempted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 7th Avenue North but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Shortly before 9:30 a.m., the vehicle collided with a truck on University Bridge that resulted in traffic restrictions in both directions. No serious injuries were reported.

The 37-year-old driver is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Impaired Driving, and Refusal.

Traffic restrictions on University Bridge have since been lifted.

Saskatoon Police are advising the public that the University bridge has been closed in both directions due to a collision.
