Two men are in custody following an armed robbery and an assault on police officers.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., October 26, 2025, Police were called to a robbery in progress in the 2400 block of 22nd Street West. A male had entered the business, threatened employees with a gun and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was physically injured.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Police were called to another business in the 2400 block of 22nd Street West. A person matching the description of the suspect in the armed robbery was seen inside. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to take the 37 year old suspect into custody. As they were making the arrest, another male approached and deployed bear spray on the officers. That male, a 36 year old, ran from the scene but was brought into custody a short distance away.

Both men were transported to detention. The 36 year old man was assessed by paramedics and found to be in medical distress and was transported to hospital where he is recovering.

The 37 year old is charged with Armed Robbery, Evade Police and breach of court conditions. Court information # 991320126
