Police are investigating following an assault yesterday

At around 2:30 p.m. on October 29, 2025, police were called to a school in the 600 block of Wiggins Avenue South for a report of an assault taking place nearby. Upon arrival, officers learned that the complainant had witnessed the assault taking place and ran to the school for assistance. As officers were gathering details, another report was received that an injured person was seen walking towards a residence in the 1100 block of 11th Street East. Officers attended to that address and located the victim of the assault being assisted by an occupant of the residence. Further investigation determined that the 19-year-old male victim had been sitting in a nearby park when four to five unknown suspects entered the park, approached the victim, and assaulted him. The suspects then fled the area.

Members of the School Resource Unit and Patrol are continuing to investigate.
