As a result of continued investigation, Saskatoon Police patrol officers arrested a second individual involved in a weapons investigation from November last year.
On January 9, 2026, patrol responded to an apartment in the 500 block of 20th Street West. Upon arrival, they located a person who was known to have an outstanding warrant relating to a November 27, 2025 incident where bear spray was deployed inside a suite in the 800 block of Appleby Drive.
The 18-year-old male was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Mischief Over $5000, and breach of court-imposed conditions.
A youth male was arrested following a weapons investigation early this morning.
At around 4:00 a.m. on November 27, 2025, police were called to an apartment in the 800 block of Appleby Drive for a report of bear spray being discharged within a unit and a male armed with a handgun. Upon arrival, officers determined that a confrontation had occurred between persons known to one another resulting in bear spray and an imitation firearm being discharged; the pellet struck a woman causing a non-life-threatening injury. The suspects fled prior to police arrival; however, officers located one of the suspects nearby. He was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
As a result, the 16-year-old male has been charged with several firearms-related offences. Members of Patrol are continuing to investigate.
