A male is facing charges following an investigation into a weekend shooting.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., March 8, 2026, police responded to a report of a shooting near Circle Drive and Preston Avenue South. Upon arrival, they located a 35-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound on the roadway. He was transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Through further investigation, it was determined the victim had been involved in a confrontation that escalated when a male produced a firearm and discharged it at the victim, before fleeing on foot.

Later, police responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of Baltzan Boulevard and located the suspect involved in the shooting outside.

An 18-year-old male is charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
