Two youth are facing charges after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of firearms yesterday afternoon.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., April 28, 2026, a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after being notified the license plate was expired. Further investigation determined that a passenger had a warrant, and upon his arrest was found to have an air soft pistol in his backpack. Another occupant of the vehicle was also found in possession of a sawed-off rifle and ammunition.

A 15-year-old male is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle, Possession of Firearm with Ammunition, and Prohibited Possession of Firearm. (Court Info # 991337309)
