Members of the School Resource Unit are investigating after bear spray was discharged outside of a school this morning.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on May 20, 2026, police were called to a school in the 2200 block of Rusholme Road for a report of bear spray being discharged. Upon arrival, officers located multiple people suffering from its effects; they were treated by members of the Saskatoon Fire Department and released at the scene. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival but has been identified and is known to one of the victims.

Police are continuing to investigate.
