One man has been arrested following an assault on a police officer.

At around 7:30 a.m. on August 10, 2026, an officer conducting traffic control during an investigation in the 400 block of Central Avenue attempted to prevent a vehicle from continuing down an alley. The driver did not follow the officer’s direction and proceeded to accelerate towards the officer; striking the Constable with the vehicle’s side mirror before fleeing.

Through continued investigation, the driver was identified and later located while riding a bicycle near Central Avenue and 105th Street West on August 12, 2026. Upon making contact with him, the man attempted to flee. Following a brief physical altercation with police, the man was arrested.

As a result, the 30-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with Assaulting a Police Officer, Hit and Run, Resisting Arrest, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
