Five men were arrested following a firearms investigation.

At around 4:30 a.m. on February 4, 2026, officers patrolling in an alley in the 100 block of Avenue T South observed a group of men discard an object into a snow bank upon seeing police. Officers approached the group and found the discarded object to be a sawed-off firearm. Upon further investigation, two other men were found to be in possession of sawed-off firearms and another was in possession of bear spray. A fifth man was not in possession of any weapons but was found to be suffering from stab wounds believed to have been inflicted during an incident earlier in the night; he was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

As a result, four men, age 32, 18, and two age 20, have been charged with a variety of weapons-related offences. The 18-year-old man was also found to be breaching court-imposed conditions. The 19-year-old man who had been stabbed in an unrelated incident was not charged; however, police are continuing to investigate.
