Police are investigating following a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Friday night.

On September 18, 2026 at approximately 10:00 p.m., police were called to the 1300 block of 8th Street East for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Arriving officers located a 23-year-old woman with what were believed to be serious injuries. She was transported to hospital by paramedics for further medical treatment. Officers also learned that the vehicle involved in the collision did not remain on scene.

Shortly after, police received a call for service from a man who reported that he was the operator of the vehicle that had hit the woman. The 19-year-old man was arrested without further incident but was later released pending further investigation.
