One woman was arrested following an evade police incident early this morning.
At around 3:30 a.m. on September 28. 2026, officers patrolling in the area of 8th Street East and Cumberland Avenue South observed a vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed. As officers continued to monitor the vehicle, it was believed the driver may be under the influence of an intoxicant. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the vehicle began to evade police; striking multiple police vehicles. Tire deflation devices were used to successfully disable the vehicle as it continued north on Circle Drive. Following verbal commands from officers, the driver was arrested without further incident and later found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
As a result, the 26-year-old female driver was charged with;
- Assaulting a Police Officer (x3)
- Dangerous Driving
- Impaired Driving
- Evading Police
- Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
