Arrest - Point Firearm - 1600 Block Avenue C North

One man was arrested following a report of a firearm being pointed towards a group of people.

At around 3:30 a.m. on February 22, 2026, police were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Avenue C North for a report of a firearm being pointed towards a group of people. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. Through investigation, members of the Crime Reduction Team identified and later located the suspect at a business in the 3300 block of Fairlight Drive; he was arrested without incident with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and found to be in possession of a knife. A search warrant was later executed at a residence in the 3100 block of 33rd Street West leading to the seizure of a sawed-off rifle, ammunition, and body armour.

As a result, the 35-year-old man has been charged with several weapons-related offences as well as breaching multiple court-imposed conditions. (Court Information #'s: 991330862, 991330864, 991330931)
